Bath: Moments Between Sleep. A short film by me.

I made a short film of my pre-21st Birthday weekend in Bath, over the period 12th-14th September. I have a two blogposts about my weekend trip both here and here.

As I am writing this, I feel immensely proud of this video and sharing it on this blog. To be honest, I was really deliberating if I should share it on here because film making is completely new to me. I feel like am really putting my out there by publishing my short film here, and unsure how it will be received by.., well, you. My mantra, to 'take courage', eventually persuaded me to do something out of my comfort zone and uploading this short film. Anyway, it has taken a small place in my heart and I am very happy with how it came out.

I want to say that I had a theme in mind; that is had a real intent, like a true director. Yet, whilst filming this I really wanted to capture Bath through my eyes and just had fun, My weekend in Bath was a compilation of special, unplanned moments. Moments between sleep, being awake, is exactly when this footage of this video was shot. So, unintentionally, my short film title is very matter of fact!

A few notes: my hair is super curly in this video. It has soaked up the air and my curls have tightened close to each other. Looking at it now, it is crazy how fast my hair has grown since. Additionally, my plum coloured wool hat got a lot of compliments whilst I was in Bath. It is from H&M, seen here.

Some of the video footage was more surprising than I thought. For example, I did not realise I was video recording when I entered the light fixture shop. It turned out to be one of the best recording of the trip because I had such an enjoyable conversation with one of the workers, and you can see a snippet of this in this film.

Anyway, I hope you enjoy my short film. As I film, I feel like I waking up dormant skills within myself and I am excited by the thought of what else I can create by filming.

The music is by Foals, probably my favourite song by them.

Take courage,
